These beautiful hand forged border trowels are perfect for the beginner or seasoned professional. They are made of thick high quality and medium carbon British steel.
Each one is different as it is handmade by Dr. Zech. The wood for the shaft is ash and treated with Danish oil.

This hand forged border trowel is expertly crafted by Dr. Zech with the professional or serious gardener in mind. The wood shaft is ash and is 27mm in diameter. The trowel blade is forged from a single piece of steel and features a heavy duty socket with a 5.5mm wall thickness (that’s heavier gauge than a scaffold pole!).
Some have asked about the black on the trowels, this is leftover forge scale from heat treatment to leave a unique and hand crafted feel. It will not impede the performance of the trowel. These are also painted with rust preventive paint.
