This beautiful hand forged chef knife is made in Britain by Dr. Zech from high quality 23 layer Japanese Suminigashi Steel.
The handle on this hand forged chef knife consists of horse chestnut burl stabilised with dark green resin. The cap is 3300 year old bog oak from the English Fens and has spacers of cork and brass.
The core layer of steel is high carbon and will keep a keen edge even after daily use. The soft iron cladding makes the blade nearly indestructible much in the same style of Japanese swords. As it is a carbon steel blade, it is recommended to hand wash and dry; for long term storage, wipe on a little used cooking oil.
