Dr. Zech’s medium hand forged archaeology trowels are perfect for regular use on any archaeology site.The economy version of our medium archaeology trowels is perfect for the entry level professional or avid amateur.
They feature a 5mm mild carbon steel blade with a full tang wooden handle incorporating long-lasting mechanical fittings for hard use which are hidden by hardwood buttons.

The inlaid wood buttons are visible and species is chosen at random; these buttons cover the mechanical fittings should one choose to upgrade their handle or if it requires repairs from mistreatment.
Please note that the wood for the handles is selected at random from the following species: oak, ash, beech, poplar, and yew. If you would like a specific type of handle material, please use the ‘contact us’ form on the bottom of the page.
All our trowels are made in small batches by hand in the UK using materials of British or European manufacture.
